Our knowledge is based on a lifetime of living and playing in the Dales. From exploring the mining heritage at the Old Gang Mines and Gunnerside Gill via swimming in the Swale at Keld, Richmond and Muker to organising charity bike rides for over 400 riders (Colomba Chemo Classic and Colomba Cardio Classic) we have the insights to prepare your perfect time away to relax, unwind and re-charge and go home with some pleasantly aching legs.
These are the routes we walk and ride, but what's 'Yan Tan' all about?
Did you know Swaledale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales has it's own dialect? Familiar words include "thee" and "thou", but less well know are the numbers used by shepherds to count their sheep... Yan (1), Tan (2), Thether (3), Mether (4), Pip (5), Azer (6), Sezar (7), Akker (8), Conter (9), Dick (10). Along with scheduled ancient monuments and a rich mining heritage, there's more to Swaledale than sheep!
